The avocado: a restorative snack

The great weather is finally here, and that means it’s time to get outside and have fun! If you’re an outdoors enthusiast, you probably already have a list of go-to snacks you take along on your excursions. After all, it’s important for us to eat well in order to make the most of our outings. What better than to pack an avocado from Mexico? Rich in protein, avocados are a tasty source of energy, which makes them an ideal snack option for fresh air activities.

A delicious and easy-to-eat snack

The avocado is an easy take-along snack, as it requires no cooking or wrapping (since it comes with its own natural protection) and can be eaten without fuss or muss. All you need are a knife and spoon. If you’d like to dress it up a bit, toss a pouch of seasoning into your backpack! Simply cut your avocado in half and eat it with a spoon. If you’re enjoying an active day with a companion, keep in mind that avocados are the perfect sharing snack: ½ for you + ½ for your buddy = 2 happy people! The more the merrier!

The athlete’s best ally

The benefits that avocados provide athletes can’t be overstated. Avocados help regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels, aid in the digestion process and promote heart health. And because they’re rich in potassium and antioxidants, they also contribute to growth and muscle recovery. We weren’t kidding when we said avocados are a restorative snack! There are plenty of reasons to pack one before heading out on your next adventure.
