Avocados, a superfood.

The avocado is viewed as a “superfood.” A superfood is one that, in addition to being nutritious, also contains unique bioactive compounds or naturally occurring chemicals that promote optimal health and may help reduce the risk of chronic illness. Did you know that more than 75% of the fat in an avocado is considered “good fat”? Because avocados contain 3 g of monounsaturated fat and 0.5 g of polyunsaturated fat per 30 g serving, they contribute to the absorption of essential vitamins A, D, K and E and to the lowering of bad cholesterol (LDL).
